Project:
The International Summer Academy Prague-Vienna-Budapest was founded in 1991 as an initiative of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in order to the euphoria about the end of the 'iron curtain'. The aim of the Academy based on the common cultural identity of the countries of Central Eastern Europe. Academic youth and music made a contribution for that. The International Summer Academy with more than 300 participants is organised yearly in cooperation with the leading music universities from Central Eastern Europe (Prague, Budapest, Bratislava, Brno, Zagreb, Sofia, Tirana, Bucarest, Lubljana, Belgrade, Novisad, Sarajevo and Kracow) as well as with collaboration with the famous music universities of London, Paris, New York and Tokyo. The aim of the International Summer Academy is bringing together the musical-academic top younger generation and an élite of name-like art professors from Central Eastern Europe.
Annually professors and students met in the region of Semmering, Reichenau, Gloggnitz and Baden to Vienna to master courses and concerts.

Result:
The Summer Academy could be redeveloped financially. Artistically it´s offer could be extended (master course for conductors and the concert cycle 'Cultural Adventure Central Europe'). The sponsor pool was extended and the artistic interlinking with the cultural activities of some main sponsors led to the steady present of the Summer Academy also during the year. On account of the increased activities, the Summer Academy has bumped into increased media interest and public interest.
